Aisling manages the US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards: a joint initiative between the Academy and the American Chamber of Commerce, the awards recognise excellence in research innovation, creation and invention by Irish HEIs, MNCs and SMEs, resulting from US Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Ireland.

Synopsis: The US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards were launched in 2015. A joint initiative of the Royal Irish Academy and the American Chamber of Commerce, the awards recognise excellence in research innovation by organisations as a direct result of FDI in Ireland. They are sponsored by KPMG and Ulster Bank and The Irish Times provide valuable media support. Awards are presented on an all-island basis in three categories:
- Multi-national Corporations
- Higher Education Institutes/Research Centres
- Small and Medium Enterprises
